About
Thank you for visiting this page! My name is Carlos Constantino. A little more than four years ago my father, Decio Constantino, passed away from a rare type of cancer. He was an extremely compassionate person who helped others when possible, gave regularly to local charities, and had a great deal of love for children.
Since his passing I have not cut my hair and have been planning on donating MY HAIR to cancer patients in need through the Canadian organization, Angel Hair for Kids®, a program of A Child’s Voice Foundation™ that provides wigs and hair loss solutions to financially disadvantaged children in Canada who have lost their hair due to a medical condition or treatment.
In addition, I am accepting monetary donations which will be made to Roger’s House which is located on CHEO (Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario) grounds. Roger's House provides a "home away from home" for children with life-limiting illnesses and their families. Their team provides respite, end-of-life, transition-to-home support, pain and symptom management, peri-natal care and bereavement care by ensuring individualized physical, emotional, and spiritual support in a caring, compassionate and continuous learning environment.
Since hearing about my initiative, some of my close friends and family have joked saying, “I don’t want to donate for you to cut your hair, I want to donate for you NOT to cut your hair”. After hearing this ‘joke’ a few times from different individuals, I thought, here is an opportunity to make this fundraising initiative a little more interesting.
Therefore, I have decided to take donations for Roger’s House, but you can choose to donate for me to CUT MY HAIR or you can donate for me to KEEP MY HAIR. Whichever has the greatest amount of total dollar donations will decide my fate!!! If there are more donations for me to keep my hair, I will run an identical campaign one year from now.
